Death and Dying Tours, President James K. Polk Historic Site, Pineville. Learn about death in everyday life for families like the Polks and delve into the history of the Polk Site Cemetery. 3 p.m.

Halloween Spooktacular Tea Party, French Market Cafe, Cornelius. Fall-inspired teas and cider and a spooky themed menu, plus games, a photo booth and door prizes. Wear your favorite costume! Two seatings: 11 a.m. & 2 p.m.

Creepy Crawly Critterween, Eastway Regional Recreation Center, Charlotte. Take part in nature-themed activities, games, and a costume contest, plus trunk-or-treat. 5-8 p.m.
Drag Me to Dinner Halloween Show, The Hide-A-Way, Rock Hill, SC. A wickedly-funny dining and entertainment extravaganza with talented drag queens. 8-11 p.m.

Charlotte Halloween Bar Crawl throughout Uptown. Enjoy free entry to top venues, spooky themed drinks and costume contests. 21+

BooFest, downtown Belmont. A hauntingly fun evening full of activities, arts, crafts, food vendors, costume and Jack o’lantern contests, carnival rides and a spooky photo booth. 2-7 p.m.
Boo-Ha-Ha, Fountain Park, downtown Rock Hill, SC. The park will be decorated with pumpkins and two dozen larger-than-life inflatables. Enjoy music, games and trick-or-treating, with a costume contest for those 10 and under. 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Cassette Rewinds Annual Back in Time Halloween Bash, Amos’ Southend, Charlotte. Hear your favorite retro tunes and dress to kill! Doors at 7:30 p.m; show at 8 p.m.
Fright Night—Town of Waxhaw, Waxhaw Town Hall. Trick-or-treat at downtown businesses, then enjoy a Halloween movie. 4-8 p.m.
