Following a week of speculation and a teaser on instagram, Charlotte magazine has learned the details of Prime Fish’s latest expansion. Omakase Experience, an extension of Ballantyne’s Prime Fish Asian Sake Raw Bar (and a Charlotte magazine Best New Restaurant in 2022), will open in Providence Plaza this spring.
Omakase is a Japanese term that means “I’ll leave it up to you.” Chef Robin Anthony, who was previously head sushi chef at Red Sake and YAMA Waverly, will serve 16 courses of chef’s choice and seasonal seafood from Japan. Omakase Experience will be $250 to $300 per person and is available for six guests by reservation only, Tuesday through Saturday. Look for a special to-go menu for limited hours during lunch in the coming months as well.
